19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has had a difficult year, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is his initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Success also signifies the Russian has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had led some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, took control to create a third set.

He defended 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
